The sky is falling!!

Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, you have heard or seen that republicans took over the House, gained seats in the Senate, and won a few governors races.  From the reactions of many of my left-leaning friends, one would think the world is about to end, or that something large, dark, and ominous is coming (Think the dark planet in “The Fifth Element” or a comet or asteroid in “Armageddon” or “Deep Impact”).

While I’m sure this puts a wrench in the plans of Dems to get certain things passed, its not the end of the world.  The government has gone back and forth between the major parties for years and the country has yet to fall off the edge of the flat planet and drift into outer space.  Its not even the first time that one house was controlled by one party, while the other (and the White House) was controlled by another.  Republicans and Democrats will have to figure a way to work together.

Now we get to see if President Obama really meant all those nice bipartisan things he said before getting elected.

The shock of last night’s “woodshed moment” is an indication of the left’s unwillingness to read the writing on the wall. It is amazing how some can look at the last 2 years and the disregard for public sentiment and act as if the rug was pulled away without warning. America is a center right nation. The force feeding of a big government power grab has awakened a people that cherish their freedom. The Republicans in the house now MUST lay clear and concise solutions on the table. It is easy for Obama to play the “partisanship” card now that he has lost a major foothold. Mr. President needs to understand that it is no longer on his terms but of that of the people. Republicans need to realize that they did not win based on their own accord. They have a job to do on behalf of the American people and it better be sought with intensity. As Vince Lombardi said “If you are not fired up with enthusiasm, you will be fired with enthusiasm.” Last night’s election was a perfect example of what can get done if America’s unite with one voice when faced with a deaf ear.

I still say all those candidates won because people want to distance themselves from their original decision to vote for Obama and the “change” the Dems had promised. They got the change, they didn’t like it, and now they want to go back to the same way of doing things that got us where we are today. Here in Fl, how the HELL can you elect a guy for Gov who has been shown to be a crook? I’ll tell you, let him run as a Rep.!
